2019 Fall Festival
On
Saturday evening, October 26, 2019, Dover Baptist Church held
their annual Fall Festival. The weather did not cooperate due to
the constant threat of rain and wind which forced the
cancellation of the hayride and the s'mores. Even with these
weather issues, it was warmer than last year. Despite the
weather, there was a lot of games, Trunk or Treat, puppets, as
well as food and fun for everyone. We had a smaller crowd than
last year due to the weather but we still had over 200+ people.
The church parking lot was filled and we had to have some
overflow parking at the parsonage. A big thank you to Kelli
Carper who was the event coordinator and also to everyone who
helped made this year's festival a success. The decorations were
awesome! To see some photos from the Fall Festival, click on

Round Up Sunday Round Up
On
Sunday, October 6, we held Round Up Sunday at Dover Baptist
Church. It was a two pronged event. One, everyone was supposed
to dress in cowboy/cowgirl attire and two, it was supposed to be
a high attendance Sunday. Well we had a little of both. A number
of people wore their western duds and we had 88 people attend
worship services, despite the absence of several members. We
could have easily reached 100 people if the normal attendees had
shown up but we still have more chances to top the century mark!
To see more of what went on, click the photo of Brother Ben. |
|
Round Up Sunday is This Sunday!
Be
sure to come to church on Sunday, October 6th in your best
western duds. Also, try and "round up" as many family, friends
and visitors to come as you can! After the worship service,
there will be a cowboy style meal in the Family Life Center. The
meat, baked beans, macaroni and cheese and drinks will be
provided. Please bring your favorite side dishes and/or
desserts. Head'em up, mov'em to church! |

Dover Baptist Dump is Gone!!!
On Wednesday, September 11, 2019,
Dover Baptist Church finally took steps to remove our
dump/swamp/burn area. Workers worked all day to remove the trees
and junk that had accumulated in the area over the years. It has
been bulldozed and plans to make a more permanent drainage ditch
are in the works. The rock has already been unloaded. Stay tuned
for further developments. Finally, after all these years, this
eyesore will be now more. Praise The Lord!!!

This photograph was taken by
Charlotte White
during the April Work Day at the
Church held on
April 13, 2019. It shows the awful
mess that the
dump had become.
Here
is what remains as of September 11, 2019.
The refuse has been removed and the
ground dozed
to make it more attractive and to
help in the drainage
of the property.

Dover's Outdoor Gospel Music
Celebration Featuring Gold City
On
Saturday afternoon, July 20, 2019, Dover Baptist Church held an
outdoor music concert featuring award winning Gospel Group, Gold
City. Victory Road also performed at the concert. We had a hot,
humid but sunny day for the show. Lots of hard work went in to
making this event a success. There was lots of good music, good
times and good food. We had 200 people show up for the concert
despite the heat. The big tent was filled to the brim. There
were also some other tents setup outside.

Morning of the Gold City Concert
Well
things are finally finished in preparation for the concert. The
tents are up, the fans are blowing, the stage is set, the
port-a-cans are ready and clean, and the ladies have the drinks
iced down and ready. Thank The Lord for blessing us with a sunny
day. Guess we should have prayed for low heat and humidity to
boot. There was a nice breeze this AM and some cloud cover. All
we need now is you. Here are some pics from the morning
preparations before the show. |
|

Concert

Kentucky is experiencing. So there will be shade for the
concert. Other preparations for the show are also under way.

Mother's Day at Dover
This
year's Mother's Day service was held on Sunday, May 12, 2019. We
had a great crowd despite the less than perfect weather. The
mothers were all recognized and given a nice gift by the
children. There was also a drawing for flowers. We had a duet by
Wayne and Linda Miller and we also had a member of the
congregation join the church. Every mother was recognized and
given a box of inspirational greeting cards. The children passed
out the gifts. Then a drawing was held to give away the three
flowers at the front of the church. Wayne and Linda Miller did a
great job singing a duet. Diane Fields came down front to Bro.
Early and told him she wanted to join Dover Baptist Church.
Diane explained why she chose Dover Baptist Church as her new
church home. Everyone stopped by after the service to welcome
Ms. Fields to Dover. What a great day! To see more of this
service, click the photo. |

Little Children and Jesus
13 People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to
place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. 14 When
Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the
little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15 Truly I tell you,
anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little
child will never enter it.” 16 And he took the children in his
arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them. |
